LADAC LICENSING - (Licensed Addiction Drug and Alcohol Counselors).

SFCC does not give licenses! All questions about LADAC licensing should be directed to the New Mexico Counseling and Therapy Practice Board.

Educational Requirements for LADAC
The New Mexico Counseling and Therapy Practice Board requires you to have the following if you want a LADAC license.
(There are other requirements - these are the EDUCATIONAL requirements--all questions about licensing should be directed to the Board).

1) An Associate's Degree in a related field--so an Associate's Degree in Human Services will work--an Associates in Accounting will not.

2) You must have 276 educational clock hours.
These are broken down as:
A. 90 hours in drug education (2 three credit classes).
B. 90 hours in alcohol education (2 three credit classes).
C. 90 hours in counseling education 2 three credit classes).
D. 6 hours in ethics (1 half credit class).
